Ever since I was younger, I always would say that I would go to school in Michigan one day. Flash forward and I'm 18, and look where I am now. Being from Chicago, its like a similar but completely different world living in Michigan. People here go to Tim Hortons (which I never heard of) instead of Dunkin Donuts, and no one knows what Portillos is???? Everyone will smile, hold a door open, and say hello to you here, instead of walking by and never looking back. It's strange but I love everything about it. I feel like one day I could call Michigan my home, and get used to being so close to the beach, which is where I'm meant to be.The goal is simple- look back on my life and know that I laughed, loved, traveled, and savored each and every moment. Oh, and of course to blog about English class.

Are you sure that these people aren't just holding the door open for you and smiling at you because they find you pretty? Because I have yet to see that kind of behavior in my 18 years of living here.
